Macbeth and Thorfinn kill King Duncan at battle, and Macbeth gets the crown. He reigns for a total 17 years (1040-1057). The real Macbeth was actually a very good King, as opposed to the Macbeth portrayed in William Shakespeare's play, who was a violent blood/power thirsty man. In real life, he was actually a very honored man. http://www.britroyals.com/scots.asp?id=macbeth
