before the fall of Penang, Japanese planes dropped bombs on the island. Many ships and boats in the harbour were taken by the japanese to make coastal landings on the wst coast of Malaya. -

At Gemas, The Australian and indian soldiers tried to stop the japanese from reaching singapore. They put exploseves on a wooden bridge. Australian comander waited til most of the japanese werec on the wooden bridge then he blew them up. They were still defeated by the japanese.
