    Pablo Neruda was born on July 12th, 1904 in the town of Parral, Chile. Pablo Neruda's real name is Neftalí Ricardo Reyes Basoalto. His mother died not too long after birth.

    At the age of thirteen he began to write articles to be published in the La Manana, the town paper. His first publication was the Entusiasmo y Perseverancia. (enthusiasm and perservereance) This was his first poem.

    Pablo Neruda died at 22:30 in the Santa Maria Clinic in Santiago. He was veiled in his house in Santiago, Chile which had been violated by supporters of the government. Neruda was 69 years old when he died. he was a very wonderful poet.
