    On July 28, 1902, one of the greatest philosophers of science was born. Karl R. Popper was born in Vienna, Austria to Simon Popper and Jenny Schiff. His Father Simon Siegmund Carl Popper was a well-known successful lawyer. His father also took interest in politics and social issues.   • Education

    After recovering from an illness, he left to attend The University of Vienna in 1918. He Briefly volunteered as a social worker with deprived children. Around that time he also discovered the theories of Freud and Adler , and heard Einstein lecture on relativity theory.   • Popper's begin teaching

    In 1937 he began teaching philosophy at the University of canterbury in New Zealand, During World War II. A year later Austria was annexed which helped him refocus his attention on writing about social and political science.   • The road to success

    1946 Popper decided to move to England to teach at London’s school of Economics. The year prior he published “The Open Society and Its Enemies”. He didn’t stop there, by 1949 Popper was promoted to professor logic and the scientific method.     Queen Elizabeth Knighted Karl Popper in 1969 and retired as a writer and lecturer. On September 17, 1994, Popper died of cancer at age 92. His work is recognized by many and respected to this day.
