Valerie Solanas shot Warhol and Mario Amaya, an art critic and curator, at Warhol's studio The Factory. Warhol was severely injured, but survived. This really limited those who were allowed into the studio, and put an end to The Factory days.

Warhol's Mao exhibit opened in Paris at the Musee Galleria.

Andy's favorite studio, The Factory, moved for the final time from 860 Broadway to an old Con Edison Factory on Madison Avenue between 32nd and 33rd Street. This was just an office building as no filming was being done at this point.
