The Lesson: "To Build A Fire"

  • The Expository Lesson

The man should have realized that he needs an imagination; He should have imagined what 50 below zero felt like and how cold it was and realized that it was a ridiculous idea to try to travel at 75 below zero and survive...but he didnt
  • The Conflict Lesson

By now, the man realized that it is him v. nature; however, he still thinks that he can outwit nature. He now knows that he should have listened to the old man that told him not to travel in temperatures that were lower than 50 below and to not travel alone. If he had a partner, his partner could have lit the fire again for him and he probably would have survived.
  • The Resolution Lesson

The man has accepted that he has lost the battle against nature and has drifted to sleep. Now he has realized that he should have listened and took heed to the warnings he recieved.
