    Bobby was raised and born in northern California.
  • Diagnosed with type 2 diabetes

    Bobby was 12 years old when he was diagnosed with diabetes. He never had any complications until age 29.
  • Bobby lost his vision

    Bobby lost his vision
    Bobby had trouble reading the board in his first year of law school. His doctor told him he would be blind in a month. The cause of his blindness was diabetes. He was left with 20/1200 best corrected vision. Bobby was 29 years old when he became visually impaired.
  • Started skiing again..

    Started skiing again..
    Bobby first started skiing in highschool. After he became blind, Bobby decided he wanted to ski again.
  • U.S. disabled ski team.

    Bobby learned to ski with a guide. Within a year he qualified for the U.S. Disabled Ski Team. He spent seven years as a member of the U.S. Team.
  • Dialysis routine down.

    His routine was skking in the morning, and dialysis in the afternoon three days a week for 3 hours.
    " I skiied and rode my bike,telling myself, 'I need to stay in shape because the transplant is going to happen. I'm going to get new organs and go back to the ski and race,'"
  • Bobby was diagnosed with kidney failure.

  • Completed Paralympics in Nagano, Japan.

    Bobby recieved fifth place in the Alpine downhill ski competition.He continued to race with the U.S. team until his body rejected his transplant organs.
  • Started experiencing symptoms of acute renal rejection.

    Bobby organs rejected the tranplant."The glass is always full" says Bobby Mcmullen .No matter what is going on in his life Bobby is always optimistic.
  • Bobby was back on dialyisis.

    Bobby was back on dialysis because pf the organ rejection. He endured another two years of dialysis before receiving his second double transplant.
  • Second double transplant.

    Bobby recieved his second double transplant.

  • Started bike racing

    Started bike racing
    Bobby started racing cross country on his bike with Therese and his guide. He participated in many races including cross country and downhill races. Bobby raced in many races including ;Megavalanche in Alpe d’Huez, France,
    Euro Cup Super Enduro in Sauze d’Oulx, Italy,
    One of the most hard races he has overcome was the Downieville Classic Mountain Bike Race.
  • Bobby comepleted 3,000 mile race across U.S.A.

    Bobby comepleted 3,000 mile race across U.S.A.
    Bobby was riding for Team Donate Life to raise money for transplant research..
