Chapter 1
Nick Carraway just moved to New York and is living in a place called West Egg. The West Egg is for those who have made their fortune recently. Nick is neighbors with a man named Gatsby. He meets a girl named Jordan, and also meets Gatsby standing by the dock. -

Chapter 2
Nick is riding with his friend Tom on a train. They both get off and Tom has Nick meet George and Myrtle. Tom has an affair with Myrtle, and is his lover. They go to a party and everyone gets drunk. Tom and Myrtle get in a fight and he breaks her nose. The party is over. -

Chapter 3
Nick goes to one of Gatsby's parties. He finds Jordan at the party also. They go off together and wonder about who Gatsby is. They hear rumors about him from other people. Nick starts talking to someone about how this is an interesting party and he tells him that he is the host, a.k.a. Gatsby. -

Chapter 4
Gatsby and Nick are riding together, and Gatsby tells Nick about his life. Later, Nick and Jordan talk with each other and Nick finds out that Gatsby had a romantic relationship with Daisy before she married Tom and Gatsby went off to war. Jordan explains how they want to set up a reunion with Gatsby and Daisy. Nick agrees to arrange a meeting. -

Chapter 5
Nick invites Daisy to come over to his house for some tea. She agrees to come over, but doesn't know that Gatsby will be there also. They both meet up at Nicks house and the meeting starts very awkward. However, later, things are going better and Gatsby invites them to his house where he shows them some of his possessions. -

Chapter 6
Rumors continue about Gatsby and everyone, including Tom and Daisy, wonder how he became so wealthy. They think he became wealthy from doing bad things, and Daisy becomes upset. Gatsby is upset that Daisy didn't have a good time, and is determined to win Daisy's heart. -

Chapter 7
Gatsby drives in one car with Daisy off to town, while Nick, Jordan, and Tom drive in Gatsby's car. Tom becomes upset because he thinks he has an affair with Daisy. Daisy confesses her love to Gatsby. Later, Gatsby and Daisy leave and hit Myrtle. -

Chapter 8
Tom didn't hurt Daisy. Gatsby tells his gardener not to drain his pool, he is going to go for a swim the next day. Wilson tries to get revenge on whoever killed Myrtle by hitting her with the car. He tracks down Gatsby and shoots him while he is in the pool. He then kills himself. -

Chapter 9
Nick is writing this book 2 years after the accident. He shares the stories that happened. Nick tries to give Gatsby a funeral, but some people have moved away, and he isn't able to get all his friends to come. Nick moves away. THE END.
