The Great Depression

  • The Stock Market Crashed

    The Stock Market Crashed
    When the stock market crashed it made people lose their jobs. Also it would make it harder to get a job. People that had little were reduced down to less.
  • Banks Not Having Your Money

    The Banks would invest your money into stocks. People tried to get their money out but the banks did not have it.
  • Hoovervilles

    People who lost thier jobs and lost money were named this. Its important because they are not just called bums they have a special name.
  • International Trade Lost

    The international trade would lessen because there was less money to be spending. Small busnisses would suffer.
  • New Deal Programs

    Some of these programs were aimed at helping farmers, like the AAA (Agricultural Adjustment Administration). While other programs, such as the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) and the WPA (Works Progress Administration), attempted to help curb unemployment by hiring people for various projects
  • Farmers Lose

    Farmers were usually safe from the severe effects of a depression because they could at least feed themselves. Unfortunately, during the Great Depression, the Great Plains were hit hard with both a drought and horrendous dust storms.
  • The End of The Great Depression

    People were needed to fight in the war (WWI). Those who did not go fight stayed here and worked in factories. People got jobs in factories.
