Marshall
Marshall is born in Madison, WI. He had no complications at birth. He is born into a family of five. Two older brothers, his father, and his mother. He grew up in the Madison area, and went to school through the Madison public school system. -
Lily
Lily is born in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. She was born a week early, but had no major issues during infancy. She went to public school in Wisconsin Rapids. She is an only child. She and her family moved down to Madison during her freshman year of high school. -
Marshall and Lily Meet
Marshall and Lily meet in a mutual class at Madison Memorial. He is a year older, and she is relatively new to the area, since she recently moved to Madison from Wisconsin Rapids. They start dating three months after they meet, and date throughout high school. -
Marshall Graduates High School
Marshall graduates from James Madison High School. After graduation, he takes the summer off, and he starts taking part-time classes at MATC, while working full-time in lawn care and landscaping. -
Lily Graduates High School
Lily graduates from James Madison Memorial High School. She decides to go to MATC full time after graduation. -
Marshall and Lily Married
Marshall and Lily get married relatively young out of high school. They both decided they wanted a small wedding in First Congregational Church because of it's close proximity to Lake Mendota (where they took the majority of their wedding photos). -
Marshall starts his own Landscaping Business
After working in Landscaping since high school, and obtaining a Bussiness degree from MATC he finally had the opportunity to start his own business. It was tough to get the business going in the first couple of months due to low funding, but his long days for the first couple months kept him from losing his newly started business. Lily pointed this out to be a tough time for their relationship because he was never home, and when he was, he was still working on the business. -
Couple Moves to Suburbs
Marshall and Lily had always wanted to live in the suburbs because they found it to be a safe place to raise a family without being too far from Madison. They said this security gave them the reassurement that it was time to start adding members to their two-person family. -
Michelle
Michelle is born at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. She was born at 40 weeks, but she was slightly underweight. She gained weight quickly after birth, and Lily said Michelle always wanted to eat. Michelle was able to leave the hospital within a week of birth, and Marshall and Lily were slightly worried about the responsibility of being a first-time parent. -
Michelle has Ureter Reimplantation
Michelle has a ureter reimplantation to fix the connection of the ureter between the bladder and the kidney. Marshall and Lily are very nervous, especially since this is the first time they have had to deal with a surgery this invasive. -
Maddy
A second birth in the family! Maddy was born very early in the morning, and just barely at 40 weeks. She had no major issues. Lily and Marshall were nervous about having another new-born, but were confident that they could make it work with Marshall's demanding work schedule. Marshall and Lily were happy that their oldest daughter, Michelle, was so excited about having a sibling. -
Michelle Has Tonsilectomy
At the age of 7 Michelle has her tonsils removed. There were no problems with the surgery. Marshall and Lily found this to be the first time they really felt overwhelmed. Between taking care of Michelle post-op, taking care of Maddy, and Marshall's business, it was a tough week for the family. -
Marvin
They finally have a son! While Marshall enjoys living with his three female family members, he is happy to add a son the the family. Marvin came a week early. Marvin has an issue with the physiology of his urethra, and the doctors say he will need to eventually have surgery to fix it. -
Michelle starts High School
Michelle starts high school at Edgewood High School. Michelle is nervous, but Marshall and Lily think that she is ready for the responsibility. -
Marvin's Ureter Surgery
Marvin has a ureter surgery to fix the physiological issue. Marshall and Lily are again nervous, but less anxious than the previous time with Michelle's surgery. Marvin is anxious and has problems sitting still before the surgery.
