    The French Resistance staged a rebellion in Paris. The Allies liberated Paris, and the french citizens rejoiced.
  • The Battle of the Bulge

    The Germans caught the American troops by surprise. Three days later, during a snowstorm General Patton's troops slammed in the German lines. On January 8th the germans began to retreat.
  • The battle of Iwo Jima

    60'000 Marines landed on Iwo Jima. The marines crawled inland and attacked Japanese bunkers with flamethrowers and explosives.

    While on vacation in Warm Springs, Georgia, President Roosevelt died from having a stroke. The next day April 13, 1945, Vice President, Harry S. Truman became the president in light of Roosevelt's passing.
