U-2 Spy Plane Affair
Francis Garry Powers was killed in a plane crash. He was the piolate of a U-2 airplane. There is suspicions related to the actual cause of the plane crash. It is believed by some the he was shot down by the Soviets. Some believe it may have been a technical issue.The crash related to the cold war because the Americans were spying on the Soviets to acquire information on the Soviet's developmental progress on nuclear weapons. -
Bay of pigs
The Bay Of Pigs invasion refers to the CIA sponsored American attack of the Cuban government in order to overthrow Fidel Castro. It was a tricky plan to execute as US was not in war with Cuba then. Though the US planned to appear “not being involved” in this attack and declared about their non-intention to intervene in Cuban affairs, Cuba had already approached the UN with the facts about the US training mercenaries for this planned invasion. -
Cuban Missle Crisis
A 13-Day confrontation between Cuba and Soviet Union vs the USA. This is considered the closest event that almost cuased a nuclear war. Russia aided Cuba on one condition that cuba let russia use them as a military base. So they did, then russia aimed nuclear missles at 3/4 of the USA. It ended on the 28th of october that year. -

China successfully exploded its first atomic bomb. The Chinese people had finally developed their own nuclear technology. -

After apporximately thirty years of existence, the Berlin Wall comes down. -
