    Amendment 13The 13th amendment happened in Washington, D.C. Abraham Lincolin went around the U.S. and tried to convince people to vote for the 13th amendment. Congress amended this with article 5 of the Constitution. The 13th amendment abolished slavery in all parts of the U.S.
  • Amendment 14

    Amendment 14The 14th amendment happened in Washington, D.C. Congress amended this by article 5 of the Constitution. The 14th amendment granted full citizenship to all individuals born in the U.S.
  • Greensboro Sit-In

    Greensboro Sit-InThe Greensbor sit-in happened in Greensboro, North Carolina. There were four black college students that sat at a lunch counter for whites only. The students got more and more students to go each day and they started to take shifts to keep the counter occupied at all times, in the end the lunch counter was desegregated and blacks and whites could sit there.
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Assassination

    MLK Jr. AssassinationThis happened on a hotel balcony in Memphis, Tennesse. The police arrested James Ray for his murder but some people and some of Martin Luther King Junior's family still think he is innocent. It only took about an hour and Martin Luther King Jr. was dead.
  • Wilmington Riots

    The Wilmington Riots happened in Wilmington, North Carolina. This was a very violent protest. The was 9 people dead and 5 more wounded.
