    Quartering Act
    Parliament enacted the act to order local governments of the American colonies to provide the British soldiers with any needed accommodations.
    Cause: King George III wanted to keep peace with Britan's Native American allies.
    Effect: Britan owned revenue from the French and Indian war so he had the towns people pay some of the debt while they hosued the soilders.

  • The Bostton Massacre

    The Bostton Massacre
    A fight that broke out one night that the Sons of Liberty call the Boston Massacre.
    Cause: A slave, youthworkers, and dockworkers were shouthing insults and the redcoats attacked.
    Effect: Insults were shouted to the redcoats and tensions flew, 4 men died and a slave.

    Tea Act
    Passed no new taxes, tea was popular but some people smuggled it from Holland. The Tea Act gave British East India Company control over the America tea trade.
    Cause: Tea was getting smuggled from Holland.
    Effect: Gave tea to people who paid for it and the tax.

    Cause: On December 16, a group of men disguised as Native Americans boarded three tea ships docked in Boston Harbor

    Cause: people want independence and thats why they held the second coninental congress.
    Effect: More people supported American independence

    Battle of Long Island (Battle of Brooklyn)
    Under General William Howe, he sends his troops to Long Island to take over New York and end of defeating patriots.
    Cause: Wanting to take over New York.
    Effect: We defeat Patriots forces in New York and on September 15, we capture New York.

    Cause: Wanted to right something for the colonists to read in their words.

    Cause: Winter training for the troops.
    Effect: Since we didn't have many supplies, soldiers say it was horrible. 2,500 soldiers dead by the end of February.

    Battle of Yorktown
    George Washington and his troops battle against Lord Charles Cornwallis and his troops at Yorktown, Virginia.
    Cause: Cornwallis and his troops were escaping but George Washington found out and sent his troops to Yorktown to block them.
    Effect: Cornwallis sent his sword to the next commander and surrendered leading to the Treaty of Paris for independence.
