Richard's Life
Richard lived from 11/25/1910 to 5/10/1992, he lived in Europe and was a Christian. In 1938, Richard got married to his wife Anne. During the Holocaust, Richard and Anne help hid Jews and provided them with basic needs. In Richard's lifetime, he wrote and published a book about his holocaust story and gave many presentations about kindness. Richard died from cancer in 1992. Richard would be remembered as a hero who saved hundreds of Jew's lives. Richard even won an award for being brave. -

Richard and Anne secretly hid Jews from the Nazis. Richard risked his life by secretly going to the store to provide the hiders with food. Richard risked his life by buying unusually large amounts of food. Erickson's life state Generality vs. Stagnation appears in middle adulthood. People in middle adulthood feel like it's necessary to give back to their community. Richard was in middle adulthood at that time and by hiding and providing for the Jews, he was giving back to the community. -
Richard's Death: Ego Integrity vs. Despair
Richard died from cancer at age 81. When Richard was diagnosed with cancer, he looked at all the accomplishments he had made in his lifetime. Richard was glad to have made a big difference in the Jew's lives. Richard had shared his Holocaust story and had inspired people to be kind. Integrity vs. Despair occurs in late adulthood. This is the age when people look back on their lives. At that time, Richard was in his late adult years and was proud of his long, productive life.
