Terrorists hijacked 4 airliners. The hijackers crashed two planes into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York. The hijackers also forced a third plane to crash into the Pentagon in Arlington County, Virginia. The fourth plane crashed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, in rural Somerset County after some passengers and crew tried to regain control of the plane after it flew toward Washington, D.C. None of the four planes survived. -
