    At the bigining of the end of the early modern ages , there were various kingdoms on the iberian peninsula , such as Aragon Castilla and Navarra. In 1469 Fernando of Aragon and Isabel of Castilla married.

    When Enrique die in 1474 Isabel declared that she was queen but Enriques doghter Juana la Loca also wanted to be queen.
    There was a wor between their supporters.
    Isabel won the war in 1469 in the same year her husband Fernando became King ok Aragon.

    In 1478 Fernando and Isabel were intolearn towards other religions.
    They wanted religious unityin their kingdom.
    As a result , they established the Inquisition in 1478.

    Fernando Magallanes was the first person to sail across the Pacific Ocean. He left spain in 1519 and crossed the Atlantic Ocean.
    Juan Sebastian Elcano took over the expedition. He arrived in Spain in 1522 .
