The Vietnam war was a war that involved the north and the south part of Vietnam. The US tryed to help the french at first so that the north wouldn't overthrough the french colonies witch was the south part. The president was afraid that the south would turn communist if the north took it over and the rest of asia would be communist. The north ended up wining. -
The Space race was a race between the Soviet Union and the United States. It was a race to put the most things in space and to get the most first things involving space. The big one is the first sattalite and the First man on the moon. -
The Cuban Missle Crisis is when the Soviet union had missiles pointed at the United states. The United States had missiles in turkey next to the Soviet Union. They were both scared that they each were going to fire the nuclear missiles. The United states dicded to solve this by a blockade that failed. They then negotiated. That is the first time that the Soviet Union and the United States agreed on something. -
This happened by the soviets inveting too much money in the millitary and space programe and the economy went bad. This caused the soviet union to fall and the things that were ment to carry it on didn't catch in time to save the soviets.
