    The Magna Carta

    In latin meaning "the Great Charter", the Magna Carta was created to maintain peace between the King and a group of Barons plotting to rebel against the king. The Magna Carta today was a symbol of Liberty.
  • The Settlement of Jamestown

    Settled by France’s Virginia Company of London Served as the capital of Virginia until 1699.
  • The Mayflower Compact

    The first governing document of Plymouth Colony. Written by the separatist congregationalists, called themselves saints, referred to as Pilgrims who were fleeing from religious persecution from king james
  • The English Bill of Rights

    The English BIll of Rights enforces limits to the powers in which Monarchs in England have. It also gives rights to it's citizens such as freedom of speech and free elections as well as provokes the use of "cruel and unusual" punishment.
  • The Albany Plan of Union

    A plan created to try and unify the original thirteen colonies. The plan was suggested by Benjamin Franklin. The plan was rejected by the British due to the worry that giving the colonies their own government they'd begin to lose power over the colonies.
