After I had finished school I helped out the Arch-bishop and Lord Chancellor of England for two years. The Archbishop thought I had potential, so he nominated for a place in Oxford University. I began my studying in the year 1492.I left two years later because my father wanted me to study law. When I was done I studied law at the Lincoln Inn from 1496 to 1502.

In 1499 I started my first job as a barrister after finishing studying law. In 1504 I was elected into parliament and elected to represent London. In 1510 I was under-sheriff of London and gained a reputation of an honest and hardworking man.in 1514 I became master of requests. In 1517 after writing Utopia I became King Henry’s counsellor and personal servant.

Alice had a daughter from her previous marriage and I brought her up as one of my own. I changed her name to Cresacre and arranged for her to marry my son John.
    I believe women were just as capable as men. I educated my step daughter Cresacre. Unfortunately Alice died in 1551.

This book is based on fiction and politics. I wrote this book in Latin. I attracted the attention of King Henry VIII who hired me as his personal high post and missions.

    Saint Thomas More Work Achievements-accessed on the 18/3/2012In 1518 I became a member of Privy Council. 1521 I was knighted and was made under treasurer. In 1523 I became the speakers of the House of Commons and was elected as a knight of shire. In 1525 I was Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster which meant I had control of the Northern part of England. In 1529 I was made Lord Chancellor of England and this was the end of my career because 3 years later I had a large disagreement with King Henry the VIII.

Now King Henry fell deeply in love with Anne Boleyn and she promised him she would bear him a son. So he decided to Reform from the Church of England so he could quickly remarry. I didn’t attend.I didn’t accepted the fact that she became queen and refused to take an oath that the coronation of Anne Boleyn to become Queen of England.

    Trials of Sir Thomas More-accessed on the 21/3/2012The king invited me to his wedding but I refused. At this time the King and I dislike one other.When I found out he was divorced and wanted to marry Anne Boleyn I was really mad because I have never liked him in the beginning. The King was extremely disappointed and angry. I was called to court to answer to an unclear charge of bribery of Lord Chancellor. I heard that the charges were dropped but I knew that this was just the beginning and wasn’t over.

    Trials of Sir Thomas More-accessed on the 21/3/2012In 1534 King Henry the VIII declared himself supreme ruler of the world and that everyone wad to accept this by oath. I refused to take this oath and found myself being dragged to the towers of London and left there for one year. My family requested that I take the oath but I refused and my daughter Margret was the only one who supported me. On the 7th of May, 1535 I was dragged to court again because I was being charged with treason for not taking the oath.

    Catholic Online- Death of Saint Thomas MoreI was convicted of treason. My punishment was to be hanged, drawn and quartered. King henry announced that i was only to be beheaded. I couldn't go against my faith but before I died I told the spectators that I was dying as “the kings-good servant but GOD'S first'. I died on the 6th of July 1535.
    My feast day is celebrated on the 22nd of June.
