In the later months of 1544, St. Francis Xaver babtised a group of south-western Indians known as the Macuans. After preaching to the he ended up babtising a total of 10,000 people.

When in Japan, St. Francis Xavier found the Japanese to be a great people He found that he had to change his style of preaching in poverty because the Japanese didn't completly agree with him.

After returning from Japan St. Francis Xavier new the only way of converting the japanese was by converting the Chinese, because the Japanese admired the Chinese and he beleived that the Japanese would follow in the Chinese foot-steps, but sadly on the way to china St. Francis Xavier became ill and died on Shangchuan Island near the China coast on December 3rd 1552.
