    After returning from Japan St. Francis Xavier new the only way of converting the japanese was by converting the Chinese, because the Japanese admired the Chinese and he beleived that the Japanese would follow in the Chinese foot-steps, but sadly on the way to china St. Francis Xavier became ill and died on Shangchuan Island near the China coast on December 3rd 1552.
