Act 2
Elizabeth and John Proctor are conversing in their home -
Act 2
Elizabeth tells John that Mary went to the court in Salem, and they discuss John going to Salem to tell the court that the girls are a fraud. -
Act 2
The Proctors argue about Johns feeling, or lack of for Abigail Williams. Elizabeth knows about the affair and will not let it go. Elizabeth tells John to go tell abigail there is nothing between them, and never will be. -
Act 2
Mary comes back from Salem. Gives Elizabeth a poppet she had made, and told the Proctors of the events that accured in Salem. 39 women arrested, goody Osburn shall be hanged, Sarah Good confessed, and announced she was preganent. -
Act
Elizabeths name is mentioned in the court, by none other than abigail williams. Mary ensured the court that Elizabeth has done no witch craft. -
Act 2
Rev Hale comes to speak with John, and asks him a series of questions. He asks why a man og god would not go to church on sundays, and why his youngest son has not been baptized. -
Act 2
Hales then asks John to name all 10 commmandments, and he cannot say all 10, he leaves out aldutry and, Elizabeth has to step in and say it for him. -
Act 2
Giles and Francis comes in and announce that their wives have been taken in by the court. Rebacca for the murder of Anne Putnams children and Martha for bewitching pigs with her books. how could such respected, good, women be accused of these things? -
Act 2
Cheever comes in with a warrent to search the Proctors house for evidence of witchcraft. He finds Elizabeths poppet from Mary and arrests Elizabeth Proctor, for there was a pin in the poppet where abbigail was pinned that day at court. -
Act 2
John tries to persuade Mary Warren to tell the truth about abbigail and where the poppett came from to save his wife. -
Act 4
Abigail robbed Parris of 31 pounds, and has been gone with Mercy Lewis for 3 days. Vanished. -
Act 4
Rev. Hale returns to convince the Prisoners to confess and bring them to God. They all refuse, and Hale tries desperately to get them to confess and save their lives, he fails and asks for more time with them, -
Act 4
Hales as a final effort tries to convince Elizabeth to tell John to confess, for he will listen to her. -
Act 4
Giles had been pressed to death while John has been in jail. He refused to lie, and his final words were "more wieght" -
Act 4
Elizabeth has conviced John to confess. He confesses his work with the Devil. The court brings in Rebecca Nurse in hope she will follow and do the same but she refuses to lie, once again. -
Act 4
After John confesses he refuses to have his confession hung on the church doors. A man only gets on name and he shall keep his good name. What people say and what he signs are two different things. -
Act 4
Danforth does not accept his confession for it is as good as a lie. Proctor his sent to be hanged. Hale tries to convince Elizabeth to stop John one last time but his efforts fail once more. He has his goodness now and Elizabeth will not take that from him. -
Act 4
John Proctor is hanged with Rebecca Nurse.
