His parents were Hubert Wayne White and Jeanne Elaine Hale.
His younger sister Andrea White was born on October 15, 1973.

Three day after his birth his doctors told his parents that he had severe hemophilia, meaning his blood can't clot.

He got AIDS due to a Facter VIII blood transfusion.
He had two inches of his left lung removed due to pneumonia.
Dr. Kleiman discovered that Ryan had AIDS after his surgry and told the family. -

The Kokomo Tribune first stroy about Ryan: "Howard County Youth Diagnosed with AIDS."
"AIDS can destroy a family if you let it, but luckily for my sister and me, Mom taught us to keep going. Don't give up, be proud of who you are, and never feel sorry for yourself."

This act from Western School Corporation superintendent James O. Smith started the legal battle that lasted eight months.
117 parents and 50 teachers signed a petition to ban Ryan from school.
Due to the widespread fear and ignorance of AIDS the principle banned White. -
Parents of Kokomo school children sign 117 claim forms threatening a civil suit if Ryan is allowed to enter school.
Three days later over 50 teachers vote to support the decision to keep Ryan out of school. -
An Indiana Department of Education officer ruled that the school must follow the Indiana Board of Health guidelines and that White must be allowed to attend school.

Ryan and his mom traveled to New York to appear on the Today Show and CBS Morning News. -

For the first time in 14 months Ryan returns to school.
However 151 of 360 students stayed home and seven transfered to other schools. -
Dick Bronson along with the Parents of Western School hosted an auction at Western Middle school gymnasium to raise the $12,000 to keep Ryan out of school.

This heppened during the time Ryan had to listen in on the class through telepone.

He was later buried in Cicero,Indaiana on April 15, 1990.
He passed months before the Ryan White C.A.R.E. Act was authorized in Congress.
He was admitted into the hospital on March 29, 1990 with a respiratory infection. His condtion deteriorated.
