    A physical barrier that seperated east/west berlin. On October 1961 the allied tanks confronted the soviet tanks causing the turmoil to become extremely tense, the success rate of escaping into west berlin was low.
  • Cuban Missle Crisis

    Soviets planed to get nuclear missles.The U.S. was vulnerable to nuclear attacks. Fidel Castro came to power, the US tried to over throw him in the Bay of Pigs. Both sides settled on an agreement, and withdrew nuclear arms.
  • Glasnot and Perestrokia

    During the 80's the Solviet Union was engulfed with problems, the ecenomy was falling apart, there was a lack of relevent technology, they used inefficient factories, people bought low-quality productrs, and there was a shortage of social freedoms. To bring the union together, the democratization of the Communist party was promoted through Party Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev‘s policies of “perestroika” and “glasnost.”
     Perestroika refers to the reconstruction of the political and economic system
