    As his ship floats away from England, tears fall down Morrison's cheek as he watches his homeland disappear in the distance.

    When the storm hit Robert Morrison's ship, Robert helped out on desk. As he helped take in the last rag of sale and get the water out of the ship, Robert got completely drenched.The storm lasted eleven days and for twenty-five days they hadn't avanced one step toward their destination of New York City.
  • Robert Morrison arrives in New York City

    When Robert arrives at New York City he is treated with good hospitality. He stays there for three weeks. Morrison stayed with a kindly American couple. Robert was sharing a room with their little girl who when Robert walked in asked, "Man, do you pray to God?" Morrison answered, "Yes, I do, every day." The girl felt assured and fell asleep immediately.

    Robert's ship, the Trident sails away from New York City to Canton. The trip took them around the Cape Horn and right across the Pacific.

    Robert's ship, the Trident, faces many ugly seas on it's way to Canton. One of the waves was as high as the ship's mizzen topsail.

    Robert Morrison's ship, the Trident, finally arrives at Canton, China. It was almost nine months after he left his home neighborhood and Robert was now twenty-five years old.
