Sugar Act
Britian searched everyone and all barrels for sugar, Many felt that the admirality courts violated their natural rights as americans. -
Quartering Act
British soldiers could go into colonists homes and stay there. Colonists protested angrily, they protested it violated their rights. -
Stamp Act
Put a tax on a lot of things. Made all colonists pay a tax for various products and activities inside the colonies. A petition was sent to the British government, they worked and the stamp act was repealed in 1766. -
Townshend Acts
A series of laws passed by the British Parliament. The 5 laws that these mainly are the Revenue Act of 1767, the Indemnity Act, the Commissioners of Customs Act, the Vice Admiralty Court Act, and the New York Restraining Act. -
Treaty of Hard Labor
Jon Stuart, a British representative, signed this treaty with a Cherokee tribe. It relinquished all Cherokee claims to property west of the Allegheny Mountains and east of the ohio river. -
Coercive Acts
AKA Intolerable Acts.These are some of them: Boston Port Bill- closed Boston Harbor intil the tea was paid back. MA government act- handed the colony's government over to royal officials. Quartering acts- allowed the housing of British troops in provate homes. -
