Rick is a close friend of Terry's and is inspired by his increadible determination for his cause. Terry running his Marathon of Hope had a large influence on Rick and is part of the reason he decided to do his world tour.

Rick wins 800m, get second in 1500m and gets 3rd in 4x100m relay. The games were held in Arnhem, Netherlands.

Rick wins 1500m and Marathon Wheelchair races, he also gets a silver medal in 5000m. These Paralypic games were held in Stoke Mandeville, UK.

After 3 years on the road Rick finally returns to BC. His trip raised more than $26 million towards spinal cord research programs.

In 2010 Rick had the honour of carrying the torch during the opening ceremony of the winter Olympic games.
