Rich Froning was born July 21, 1987, in Mount Clemens, MI, but moves to Cookeville TN shortkly after. -
Rich graduates high school
Rich graduates high school with a scaholarship to Walter Sate Community College to play Baseball. -
Rich drops out of Walter State
Rich decides that this college isn't for him so he drops out after two months and joins the fire department. -
Rich and Hillary meet
Rich and Hillary went to the same high school and had mutual friends but they never knew each other until they met at a salon getting their hair done Rich's sophmore year of college. -
Donnie dies
Rich's cousin and best friend Donnie is killed in a car accident. -
Rich is introduced to Crossfit
Rich first learns about, and starts doing crossfit through his firefighting job. -
Rich's first sectional
Rich goes into his first competition with low expectations but ends up winning the sectional and moves on to regionals. -
Rich's first CrossFit Games
Rich makes an amazing rookie appearence at the games by finishing second. -
Rich struggles with rope climbs
Rich was sitting in first place going into the last event of the games but he did not know how to do rope climbs and ended up losing the top spot. Rich says this is how he went on to win four times. -
Rich and Hillary get Married

Rich comes back in 2011 even more powerful and wins the competition by a large margin. -
2012 CrossFit Games
Rich wins the games for a second year -

Rich Wins the games for the thrid year -
Lakelynn Ann Froning is born
Lakelynn is born and adopted by Rich and Hillary -
Rich wins 4th consecutive title
Rich wins the CrossFit games for the 4th year and is the first and only person to do this. -
Rich retires from individual competition
Rich decided that training to win the CrossFit Games takes too much energy and he needs to be able to help his wife take care fo their new baby. He did not completely quit, just decided to switch gears and compete on a team. -
Rich's first year on a team
Rich competes in the 2015 CrossFit Games on a team and they finish first. -
2016 CrossFit Games
Rich and his team win for a second straight year -
Richard Lyle Froning III "Trice"
Rich and hillary adopt their second child and first son. -
2017 CrossFit Games
Rich and his team have a dissapointing finish and end up in second. Thye say it is motivation to work even harder. -
Harper Violet Froning
Rich and Hillary adopt their thrid child. They now have three kids under the age of four, and Harper is the biological sister of Lakelynn. -
2018 CrossFit Games
Rich and his team come back after a second place finish and win bringing CrossFit Mayhem Freedom's total up to three wins.
