    Rev M. R. Watkinson wrote a letter to treasury suggesting that a god-related motto be put onto American coins.

    Since the year 1938, all coins have been inscripted with the motto "In God We Trust".

    The Supreme Court ruled that it cannot be required for students to recite the pledge at school. They must be allowed to opt out at their wish.
