    It was at Wilmer Mclean's house. Robert E. Lee, Confederate General, surrendered at Appomattox Court House, in Virginia, that ended the cival war It concluded the bloodiest conflict in our nation's history.

    He was shot at Ford's Theatre in Washinton,DC. It was on a good friday. John Wilkes Booth was the attacker of Abraham Lincoln.
  • 13th Ammendment Ratified

    13th Ammendment Ratified
    This Amendment outlawed slavery. This was the 1st out of three Reconstruction Amendments. It was passed on April 8, 1864.

    This gave blacks the right of citizenship in America. It voided the Dred Scott decision. It was ratified on July 21st 1868.

    He was one of the most enthusiactic defenders of African Americans. He was also with the first group of Reconstruction-era African American elected officials.
