  • 10 Percent Plan

    Lincoln Created the 10 Percent Plan which said that at least 10 percent of the state’s population had to say they were sorry and they would never do it again. This was important becuase it gave an easy way for the south to join the union again.
  • Wade Davis Bill

    The Wade Davis Bill said that all southern men had to swear loyalty to the Union. Lincoln didn’t sign it because he thought it was too harsh. It was important becuase it rivaled the 10 Percent Plan.
  • The Freedmens Bureau

    The Freedmens Bureau was an organization that set up schools for the African American men who were slaves, gave food and water to former slaves, gave clothes, and helped find jobs for the freedmen. It also helped the poor white men and provided medical care for them.
  • The 13th Amedment

    The 13th Amendment said that all slavery was abolished. This was Important because all slavery was gone and most of the southern infrostructure was gone.
  • KKK is Formed

    The KKK was formed to try to keep the freedmen with little power
  • Lincoln's Assassination

    President Lincoln got assassinated by John Wilkes Booth. This made the whole nation go into shock and they didnt know what to do. Andrew Johnson became president.
  • Black codes

    They were created for Southerers to keep whites superior to freedmen. It severly limited rights for the Freedmen.
  • Radiclal Republicans

    These political people were people that wanted the south to get punished for doing what they did by starting the Civil War. These people were important becuase it was a new political party.
  • 14th Amendment

    The 14th Amendment said that all citezens are equal no matter what race, it said that all people had the same rights. This was important becuase it was now a law that all men were equal
  • Recinstruction Act

    This threw out all the governments that didnt ratify the Fourteenth Amendment. This was importnat becuase it forced the governments that didnt ratify it didn't get support by the Union.
  • The 15th Amendment

    This allowed everybody to vote no matter what race or skin color. It was important becuase it was important becuase it allowed all freedmen to vote.
