  • Plankalkul

    Plankalkul was created by Konrad Zuse. This would be the first real computer programing language

    Created by John Backus and is one of the oldest programming languages. It stands for Formula Translation because it was made to translate math formulas to code

    Created by Charles Katz and a group of people to be a improvement of FORTRAN

  • Lisp

    Created by John McCarthy and is short for list processing. It is used as a common language for AI. It was designed to work with data other than list.

  • COBOL

    COBOL means Common Business-Oriented Language. It was created by the ideas of Grace Hopper. It was created for business use

  • RPG

    RPG stands for report programming generator and was created by IBM to be a alternative to punch cards.

  • BASIC

    BASIC stands for Beginner's All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code. This was created by John G. Kemeny and Thomas E. Kurtz. It was created to be one of the simplest high-level languages.

  • LOGO

    Seymour Papert and Jean Piaget created LOGO to teach children the basics of programming

  • B

    B was born in Bell Labs by the work of Ken Thompson with help from Dennis Ritchie. This was designed for recursive non-numeric applications.

  • PASCAL

    Created by Niklaus Wirth and was used to teach structured programming.

  • C

    C was created by Dennis Ritchie. Was created to be a system programing language and would inspire other programing languages.

    ML stands for Meta-Language and was created by Robin Milner and is used in other programming

    This stands for Structured Query Language and was created by Raymond Boyce and Donald Chamberlin and was made to get information from databases

  • ADA

    Named after Ada Byron. Was developed for the U.S Department of Defence for large-scale programming

    Was created by Bjarne Stroustrup to make writing programs easier for programmers

    Created by Guido Van Rossum and was made to overcome the flaws of the ABC programming script.

    Created by Microsoft to to expand on BASIC by adding objects and event driven programming.

    Created by Borland and was based on object pascal

  • Java

    Created by James Gosling and is a general-purpose programming language and is intended for applications to write once and run anywhere.

    Created by Brendan Eich and was created for web browsers and the internet

  • PHP

    Created by Rasmus Lerdorf and was originally used to track visits to his online resume.
