Programming Languages

    Lisp was originally created as a mathematical notation for computer programs. It was founded by John McCarthy.

    Cobol was created by Grace Hopper. It stands for Common Business Oriented Language.
  • RPG

    RPG
    RPG was invented by IBM. RPG stands for "Report Program Generator." This programming language is used for punched card machines.
  • Basic

    The programming language that is known as basic stands for Beginners All-Purpose Symbolic Instruction Code. It is mainly used for general purpose, high-level programming.

    Ken Thompson was the creator of "B" programming language. It is mainly used for older computers, and minicomputers.
  • Pascal

    The Pascal programming language was created by Niklaus Wirth and was named after Blaise Pascal. It is used for PC games and embedded systems.

    C programming is a general use programming language that was created by Dennis Ritchie at AT&T bell labs. It is one of the most widely used programming of all times.

    ML is a generally used programming language that was created at the University of Edinburg by Robin Milner. ML stands for metalanguage.

    SQL is used for databases. It stands for structured query language. It was developed at IBM by Donald Chamberlin and Raymond Boyce.

    Python was created by Guido van Rossum. It can be packaged into stand-alone programs and can be used for many different systems.

    Java was created by James Gosling at Sun Microsystems. It is designed to "write once, run anywhere." This means that it was made to be able to be used on any machine.

    Javascript was created by Brendan Eich. It does not have anything to do with Java, suprisingly. Javascript is mainly used for outside web pages, and widgets.
  • PHP

    PHP is used as the server side of programming. It was created by Rasmus Lerdorf. It is used on many servers and websites. It is very weakly typed.
  • Delphi

    Delphi
    Delphi is used mainly for web applications and mobile applications. It was developed by Borland.
