The President leaves New Delhi and makes a cultural city to Varanasi, a Hindu holy city and an ancient center of learning and knowledge. He will visit the Kashi Vishwanath, the Varanasi Ghats, and Bangaras Hindu University. The significance is to show the United States cares about education and knowledge, but also supports diversity and other cultures. This part of the U.S.'s reputation has been damaged around the world.

Leaves Varasi for Dharamsala, where the Dalai Lama resides. In a rare special audience, the two will mostly discuss Tibet. The President will hear the Dalai Lama's concerns and wishes, and express disdain for China's actions on behalf of the U.S. This visit can reinforce the U.S. soft power position as a force of good in the world.
