Jonathon Roberts set out northwards across the plains and selected a spot in the Peachey Belt area. He came with his wife, three boys and two girls, all very young. Jonathon gave the name “Carclew” to his selection, the reasons are not known. Jonathon probably made his selection before the land was surveyed.
