Duhem started his journey to be a well known and accredit scholar in 1882 when he started attending the Ecole Normale Supérieure. Among his peers Duhem stood out being first in his class through his entire stay of 4 years there and was offered a position in Louis Pasteur’s laboratory as a chemist-bacteriologisty. Hes well know for holding generalized thermodynamics as foundational for physical theory.
