EVENT: Columbus and his crew finally arrive on land to what they believed is Asia. FACT CHECK: Columbus actually arrived on October 12, 1492 which is why that day is now known as Columbus Day. CONNECTION: This event is still celebrated to this day, because its an important event in American history. RATING: ★★★ I give this movie 3 stars because it was too dramatic.

EVENT: Napoleon invades Austria and then he is kidnapped by Bill and Ted and taken to the future.
FACT CHECK: Napoleon was actually the commander of the French Army during the battle between France and Austria.
CONNECTION: This was a very important event in history, so students of today are still learning about it in school.
RATING: ★★ I give this movie a rating of 2/5 stars because the main characters were annoying. -
EVENT: After 12 years of being wrongfully enslaved, Solomon is freed and returned to his family.
FACT CHECK: In Solomon´s memoir, he says that he was enslaved in 1841 and freed in 1853.
CONNECTION: This event was such a memorable moment in American history, that it was made into a modern day movie for better understanding of it.
RATING: ★★★★★ I give this movie 5 stars because it was very realistic and actors did a good job of depicting the events. -
EVENT: Lincoln was assassinated in Washington D.C.
FACT CHECK: In the movie, Lincoln was shot in the box at Fords Theatre, just as he was in real life.
CONNECTION: The places Lincoln were shot and died at are still open to the public today for people to see.
RATING: ★★★★ I give this movie 4 stars because I think they did a good job of depicting Lincolns presidential term. -
