All starting on August 2, 1990, Iraq troops invaded Kuwait, a small peice of land in the Persian Gulf that had a lot of oil. This became an international crisis that the US and other countries got involved in to stop it.

Clinton beat George Bush in the presidency and became the first Democratic president in 12 years after becoming president.
