    BIRTH OF PAUL FEYERABEND
    in the early nineteenth century, Paul Feyerabend was born on January 13, 1924. in Vienna, Austria to a middle-class family whose father was a civil servant and his mother a seamstress. growing up in a small 3 bedroom apartment and distanced from nearby neighbors. Paul remembered spending most of his childhood time either in the kitchen or bedroom of the house rather than spending time with friends or neighbors.

    Paul attended a high school called Realgymnasiun. where he learned Latin, English, and science. overall he was considered an above-average student for his age, especially around the age of sixteen he was known to be more knowledgeable than the teachers in both physics and math.
  • MILITARY SERVICE

    MILITARY SERVICE
    When Paul graduated from High school in April. he was drafted into the German army. once he completed basic training he joined his unit in Quelerne en Bas, France where he would dig/fill ditches along the countryside. Paul would then volunteer to join officer school in hopes of avoiding the war to no avail. In 1943 Paul served as an officer and reached the rank of lieutenant where he would be shot 3 times while directing traffic. this caused his separation from the army and lifelong injuries.

    ACADEMIC YEARS
    In 1951 Paul was the beginning of his studies and workings in philosophy. he studied under Karl popper for a while before returning to Vienna where he helped with different projects and wrote articles for the encyclopedia. 1955 Paul was then selected at the University of Bristol, England to give lectures in the philosophy of science. this led to attaining professor status in a handful of distinguished universities.

    Receiving an invitation in 1958 to work at the University of Berkley he attained his US citizenship. during this period, most of his important early work was published. he later encountered draft forms of Thomas khuns book on The Structure of Scientific Revolutions. where he later wrote back letters about the book.
  • AGAINST METHOD

    AGAINST METHOD
    In 1970 Paul had left his position at Berkley and would travel to London, Berlin, and Yale. then took a temporary professorship at the University of Auckland in New Zealand where he considered settling down. During this time he collaborated with Lakatos and worked on a debate volume with opposing sides in the scientific method. where Paul argued against and Lakatos argued for. with the sudden death of Lakatos the volume was never completed.

    In 1980 Paul was accepted to both the Universities of Berkley and Switzerland this was what he wanted and gave him the freedom that he wanted when it came to giving lectures. where he wasn't bound by academic boundaries as he also refused to have an office position as he knew that comes with office hours which he despised.
  • LATE NINETIES

    LATE NINETIES
    Paul Feyerabend would pass away on February 11th, 1994 before he passed away he had processed various old courses and lectures from his previous employment in Berkley into a five lectured volume titled "What is knowledge? What is science?. Where it was later turned into a book by Eric Oberheim called The Tyranny of Science.
