Jim Thorpe

Period: May 28, 1887 to Mar 28, 1953

He was born on May 28, 1888 in Prague, Oklahoma His full name was Jacobus Franciscus "Jim" Thorpe He won gold medals in the 1912 Olympics in the pentathlon and
decathlon as well as playing American football He was prone to suffering from alcoholism and lived his last few
years in failing health and poverty. He died on March 28, 1953 in Lomita, California
