    King John put a seal on it but, nobody really signed it. It was signed in Medieval England.It limited the king's power by no taxation without representation, allowed for fair and non excessive punishment, and a trial by jury.
  • Mayflower Compact

    Mayflower Compact
    The pilgrams did not want a king or queen and they just wanted a government so they made rules. Created the compact before they set foot on lanad.
  • Petition of Rights

    The Petition of Rights limited the kings power. Charles I signed The Petition of Rights.
  • English Bill of Rights

    The signing involved William and Mary. Catholics were banned from the throne, kings and queens had to sweara oaths to maintain Protestantism as the official religion of England.Monarchs couldn't establish their own courts or act as judges, prevented Protestants from bearing arms, create a standing army; impose fines or punishments without trial; or impose cruel and unusual punishments or excessive bail, free speech in Parliament was protected.

    The major players within this war are France (with native alliance) and Britain. Major battles include, the Battle of Louisbourg, Fort Duquesne, and the Battle of Quebec. the British won the war because the French lost their major stronghold of Quebec. The war altered political, economical, and ideological relations between Britain and American colonies. The war brought up colonial feelings of resentment toward Britain, incouraging the start of the American Revolution.

    King George the 3rd changed the relationships between the british and the colonies in a negative way.After the war Britain was in debt so they placed taxes on the colonists. this ruined the relationship between the colonists and king george III.
  • Stamp Act

    The stamp act taxed legal documents, permits, commercial contracts, newspapers, wills, pa,phlets, and playing cards. The colonists reacted to the Stamp Act by boycotting it, but sometimes they would compromise by giving the buyer a stamp without paying the tax then the buyer would pay the person to stamp it.

    3 colonists killed on the spot and 2 died later. The boston massacre occured because of the new taxes set by the British.
  • Boston Tea Party

    The boston tea party was a politcal group called the sons of liberty led by John Hancock. The British responded by making the intolerable acts, shutting down the boston harbor and the Massachusets government was destroyed.
  • Intolerable Acts

    The British passed these acts because they needed to whip the colonies back intro compliance with the rules and regulations mandated by the British Parliament. They wanted to punish Massachusetts by closing the port oof boston until the tea was paid for. They were four acts enforced on the Colonists from King George the Third, to punish for the Boston Tea Party. The British restricted colonists to have government/committees/town meeting. The British allowed themselves to house troops where ever.
  • First Continental Congress

    The main poeple involved were Peyton Randolph, Henry Middleton, and Charles Thomson. The outcome was a declaration that would state the rights of the colonists and halt the trade with Britain. It was help in Carpenters' Hall in Philadelphia.
  • Second Continental Congress

    It took place at Carpenters Hall in Philadelphia. The rough draft of the Declaration of Independence was handwritten by Thomas Jefferson, established the Continental Army that chose George Washington as the commander in chief. Committee included Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Ben Franklin, and George Washington.
  • Lexington And Concord

    This battle started the Revolutionary War. For the British it was Lieutenant Colonel Francis Smith and for the Colonists it was Captain John Parker and Colonel James Barrett. He warned the Colonists that the British were coming.

    That meeting actually set up the future date to meet in Philadelphia next may.The original purpose of the Annapolis Convention the goal was to remedy the defects of trade or commerce limitations between independednt states under the Articles of Confederation.
  • The Treaty of Paris

    John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and john Jay were those who repesented America in the signing. Aboundary was made from the 49th parallel on the noth to the 31st parallel on the south.The British recognized American independence with the signing of the Treaty of Paris in 1783, based on a 1782 preliminary treaty.
