A known anti-war activist, Chomsky's essay on the opposition of the Vietnam war was published in 1967 where he criticized what he called a "disgracefully resigned intellectual community" (Chomsky, 1967).

Chomsky is credited with co-authoring the linguistic theory in which he established that there are innate elements that were observed in children that utilized both acquisition and "All human beings may be born with an innate understanding of how language works." (Stanborough, 2019.)
