  • Noam Chomsky was born

    Noam Chomsky was born Dec 7, 1928, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to father Ze've "William" Chomsky and mother Elsie Simonofsky.

  • Early Beginnings

    As early as age 10 Chomsky was writing about the world he was living in. He published an editorial on "the rise of fascism in Europe after the Spanish Civil War," a school newspaper article that was substantial enough to "be the basis for a later essay he would present at New York University."
