Bohr is born in Copenhagen, Denmark to Professor Christian Bohr and Ellen Adler. Not only was his father a Professor but also a scientist and Nobel Prize nominee. Bohr created a model still used to this day, showing what an atom looks like. The model explains how an atom is made up and how they create properties of elements based on the number of electrons. Bohr escaped Nazi capture and lived in England and America during the rest of the war where he worked with Albert Einstein on the development of the Atomic Bomb.

Bohr died on November 8th, 1962. His son followed in his footsteps in studying physics and too went on to earn the Nobel Prize for his work in the investigation of the structure of atoms in 1975.
