    Norwich, NY was a small farm down in the middle of New York State. There were more cows than people in Norwich. Mr. Baker's dad worked for Proctor and Gamble, a pharmaceutical company, and his mother worked for the town bank.
  • Mr. Baker goes to Silver Bay for the 1st time

    At age 3 months, Mr. Baker went for the first time to Silver Bay, a family conference center on Lake George in New York State. His family vacationed there every summer of Mr. Baker's life and it would turn out to be one of the most important places in Mr. Baker's life.
  • The Bakers get Charlie

    The Bakers picked out Charlie, a cute puppy, to share with Mr. Baker's mother's parents, Poppy and Sashee. Charlie lived in Massachusetts with Poppy and Sashee for the summers, and in New York with the Bakers for the winters.

    When Mr. Baker was 9 years old, Casey was 18 and ready to start college. When she left for college at Binghamton University in NY, it was the first time that Mr. Baker was on his own as a child in the house; and instead of having three adults around, there were only two!

    Mr. Baker's father was promoted in his company. His new job caused the Bakers to have to move away from their home in Norwich. Casey left school at Binghampton and transferred to Miami University (named fot the Miami Indians, not Miami, Florida) in Oxford, OH.

    Mr. Baker Lived in Mason, OH

    Mason, OH was a growing suburb of Cincinnatti, one of the major cities in the midwest. There were many different views about race and religion there. Mr. Baker was exposed to racism for the first time in his life. In order to find a community that they felt comfortable in, the Bakers joined a Unitarian Universalist church. Mr. Baker's parents became very active in the church.
  • Mr. Baker spends the entire summer at Silver Bay for the 1st time

    With Casey about to move out to California and spending her last summer working at Silver Bay, Mr. Baker and his mother went to work at Silver Bay with her. Mr. Baker was only 12 years old, so he volunteered as a swim instructor and in the ice cream store, scooping ice cream for the guests.

    Again, Mr. Baker's father had the opportunity to have a better job, so the family had to move from another home.
  • Odyssey of the Mind World Championships

    Mr. Baker participated on a team in a competition for creativity. His team ended up in the world finals. Shortly there after, Mr. Baker was to move to Pennsylvania. He finished his time in Ohio with his greatest accomplishment at that point in his life.

    Mr. Baker attended high school in Paoli, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia. Again, Mr. Baker saw many new perspectives on race and religion. In Philadelphia, people were more open different races and religions. This is where Mr. Baker became a Unitarian Universalist himself.

    With the church as one of the corner stones in his community, Mr. Baker was a leader among the youth in his congregation and they soon elected him president of the youth group.
  • Mr. Baker spends his first summer as an emp at Silver Bay

    Mr. Baker was hired by Silver Bay as their stained glass instructor. This was the first of 5 summers that he would spend working at Silver Bay. There, they call their employees "emps" for short.

    Mr. Baker Attended Radford University

    Mr. Baker studied Music Business and Guitar at Radford University, in Radford, VA. Virginia was the farthest south Mr. Baker had ever been. Again, he was exposed to new perspectives on race and religion. He also started learning about gay rights and other issues that were important to him.
  • Mr. Baker meets Dusty

    Mr. Baker met one of his best friends, Dusty, at a freshman seminar at Radford. Dusty has remained one of Mr. Baker's absolute best friends and is a fashion designer in New York City now.
  • Mr. Baker Meets Roger

    After walking past the night time security guard in his dorm many times without really saying a word, Mr. Baker finally stopped to chat with him one night. His name was Roger and he turned out to be one of Mr. Baker's best friends and still is today.
  • Sarah's Rock Star is Formed

    Mr. Baker's first band, Sarah's Rock Star is formed including extremely talented members of the Radford University Music Department. The band is known for their hits "Catcher" and "Forever August."
  • Tropic Freeze is founded

    On his 19th birthday, Mr. Baker and Roger decided to start a Hawaiian Shave Ice business. The two built a cart that they could take from festival to festival and spent time the next two summers selling shave ice. They barely broke even at the end of 2 years, but the memories will last forever.
  • Mr Baker connects with Unky Pro-Pro

    Mr. Baker's parents' best friends were the Provans. They had always wanted their sons, Mr. Baker and Unky Pro-Pro, to be friends. It was not until Greg was 19 and Unky Pro-Pro was 20 that they finally became close friends though. They worked together at Silver Bay for the summer. Unky Pro-Pro was the best man at Mr. Baker's wedding and remains one of his closest friends to this day.

    Mr. Baker, after changing his major in school from Music Therapy to Music Business, and the success of his first band, Sarah's Rock Star, chose to move to Boston to study at a more prestigious school in a bigger city.

    Mr. Baker attended Berklee College of Music in Bost, MA. This is the first time he had lived in a big city. It was very overwhelming to him. He studied music with some of the greateest musicians in the world.

    Mr. Baker took a year off of college

    Mr. Baker decided to take some time off of college because he was unhappy playing music all the time. He worked three different jobs to support himself and to figure out what he wanted to do: He was a private guitar instructor, he worked at an assisted living home with Alzheimer's patients, and he worked for the YMCA in Hopkinton, MA.
  • Mr. Baker begins Landmark Education

    On the advice of his best friend, Unky Pro-Pro, Mr. Baker attended an eye-opening seminar called the Landmark Forum. The philosphies and concepts learned during this seminar helped Mr. Baker make sense of and find answers to many of the hard questions he had been asking himself.
  • Mr. Baker meets Rachel

    Mr. Baker met Rachel working at a camp in Hopkinton, MA. He knew immediately that they were meant to be together. Rachel did not feel the same. She had a boyfriend and thought that Mr. Baker was too crazy to even be friends with him. After a while though, Mr. Baker's charm captured her heart.

    Mr. Baker had spent many weeks trying to capture Rachel's heart. Finally, she broke up with her boyfriend and began to date Mr. Baker.

    After starting at Springfield College, Mr. Baker reconnected with a childhood friend, Ben Brumbaugh, who also attended Springfield. The two became extremely close very quickly.

    Mr. Baker decided that he loved his work at the YMCA. He chose to attend Springfield College and study Youth Development and YMCA Professional Studies. He thought this would provide him with the education he needed to make positive change for young people in the world.

    Mr. Baker had his first job after graduating at an all-boys camp in Vermont. He made some very good friends and learned a lot about using his knowledge from college.

    Mr. Baker won the prestigous "Spirit of Abnaki" award during his first summer at Camp Abnaki. This is an award that is given to someone who represents the values and philosophies of the camp. It is a high honor.

    Mr. Baker moved in with Rachel when the two decided to move to Boulder, CO. They moved there with their two best friends, Ben and Sara. Mr. Baker worked as a Sports Director at the YMCA of Boulder Valley.

    Pig Pen had been found on a mountain road in Colorado. He had been brought to the Boulder Humane Society and put up for adoption. Mr. Baker and Rachel adopted him the very next day. As soon as he met Mr. Baker, he jumped into his lap and started licking him like crazy. He knew that he had found his forever home.

    After adopting Pig Pen, Mr. Baker and Rachel knew that they had too much love in their hearts for just one dog. They went back to the Humane Society and looked at dogs. While looking, Mr. Baker felt a soft tongue touch his finger through the cage bars. It was a cute little Puggle. After Pig Pen met her and decided he liked her as a sister, Lila was adopted into the family as well.

    Mr. Baker had decided that he could never live without Rachel by his side, so he asked her to marry him. She said yes! They spent the whole next day calling and visiting all their friends and family to tell them the news.

    To be closer to their families, Mr. Baker and Rachel moved back to the east coast. They had many friends in Burlington, VT and Mr. Baker could work at the camp until the two found good jobs.

    Mr. Baker was hired as the Youth and Teen Director at a YMCA near Cape Cod. In order to take the job, he and Rachel had to move to Dartmouth, MA. It was very hard for them to find friends in this area because of their perspectives on the world, and Rachel did not like the school in which she was teaching.

    The Bakers held their wedding at Silver Bay, where Rachel and Greg had made some of the best friends and greatest memories of their lives. The ceremony was on the shores of Lake George and the reception was on a huge steamboat. Friends and family came from all over the country to be with the couple and celebrate their love. It was the best dayof their lives!

    After trying hard to make Dartmouth work, the Bakers decided to move to Northampton, where they knew that Rachel would have a job that she would like and where they already had a strong community. Community was the most important thing in their lives and moving to Northampton made them very happy. This is where they still live.
  • Mr. Baker Meets Jay

    Jay was the husband of a friend from work. He and Mr. Baker met and became very close friends very quickly. They are still very close to this day!
  • The Bakers buy a house

    The Bakers had finally found the place they wanted to live for the rest of their lives. They loved the people and the town and they both had great jobs. Plus, Pig Pen and Lila had made some very good dog friends. It was also close to Rachel's parents. They decided to by a house. The house they bought was a two unit house, which meant that they could rent the upstairs to their friends Ben and Sara, who were married now and just moving back from Colorado.
