Edward was one of the first people to volunteer for the war.

While in Dunkirk he was one of the last people left on the beach. His job while there was to dismantle and destroy any machinery that the army had to leave behind.

Edward was in the thick of the fighting throughout the war, going to Africa and fighting against the axis powers there.

After he was done fighting in Africa he moved up to italy, Edward would stay here until the end of the war.

Edward left the army in 1946, he left with many medals and with the title of Sargeant.

Edwards first daughter (My Grandmother) was born on April 24th 4/24/1946. She was the reason he had to leave the army, Ann wanted him out of the army so he could be with his family.

Three years later his second daughter was born.

On February 16th 1969 Edward Parkins died at age 49
