    Greeks

    Greeks
They discovered that the smallest piece of matter is called an atom. Atoms are the smallest particles in this world. They also found out that everything is made of of elements.
  • John Dalton

    John Dalton
Born on September 6, 1766 he was the one that said that atoms are made of soild spheres. He also did more things with the things the greeks said and that was all elements are made of matter and matter is atoms and that atom is the smallest particle.
  • William Crookes

    William Crookes
Made two enventions that delt with atoms and they where the vacuum and his most famous one the cathode-ray tube. He had a positve and a negative elctron at each end and it made a light in the middle.
  • J.J. Thomson

    J.J. Thomson
J.J. Thomson was born on December 18, 1856. He proved the existance of the atom with the cathode-ray tube. He discovered that elrctorns are negative. He made the pum puddig ex[periment which says that each atom has the same amount of protons and electrons.
  • Ernest Rutherford

    Ernest Rutherford
Earnest Rutherford was born August 30, 1871. Proved that the proton had a positive charge. Made an experiment with gold foil and alpha particles and found out that some alpha particles bounced off of the foil. That changed the look from a solid sphere to a thing with a nucles in the middle and electrons going around it.
  • Niels Bohr

    Niels Bohr
Niles Nohr was born on October 7, 1885. He found out that oppisites atract and likes repeal. He found that out when he used that cathode-ray tube. He put something to one end and the light went tords it, when he put the oppisite end towards it the light repealed from it.
  • Werner Heisenberg

    Werner Heisenberg
Werner Heisenberg was born on December 5, 1901. He found out that the nuclear had both protons and electrons in it. He also found out that the electrons orbit the nucleus, and he also found out that the atom looks like a cloud.
