Sir Tim Berners-Lee wrote a proposal that eventually became the Worldwide Web. I use the Worldwide Web almost every day. If I did not have it, my life would be completely different. -
The Gore Bill
The High Performance Computing Act, called the Gore Bill, lead to the National Information Infrastructure. These both played a large role in the developement of the internet and releasing it to the public. I use the internet every day and my life would be very different without it. -
Mosaic
Mosaic was the first web browser ever created. It was developed at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign beginning in late 1992. If web browsers were never invented, we would not have personal computers like we do today. My life would be very different without it. -
Yahoo Created
Yahoo is best known for its web portal, search engine (Yahoo! Search), Yahoo! Directory, Yahoo! Mail, Yahoo! News, Yahoo! Finance, Yahoo! Groups, Yahoo! Answers, advertising, online mapping, video sharing, fantasy sports and social media website and services. It is one of the largest websites in the United States. I use Yahoo for my e-mail and if it wasn't invented I would not be able to use it today. -
Hotmail Created
Hotmail is a free web-based email service operated by Microsoft as part of Windows Live. One of the first web-based email services, it was founded by Sabeer Bhatia and Jack Smith and launched in July 1996. I use Hotmail as my school email site. -
Reference.com
Reference.com is an online encyclopedia, thesaurus, and dictionary. The site also provides machine translation and web search. Reference.com was launched by InReference, Inc in February, 1997. I use the dictionary part of the site when I need to know what a word means. -
Google Created
The company was founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin while both attended Stanford University. Google is an American multinational corporation which provides Internet-related products and services, including internet search, cloud computing, and software and advertising technologies. I use Google more than any other website. -
Moodle Created
Moodle is a free source e-learning software platform. It was originally developed by Martin Dougiamas to help educators create online courses with a focus on interaction and collaborative construction of content, and is in continual evolution. I use Moodle for school to access different things from my teachers. -
Facebook Created
Facebook is a social networking service launched in February 2004, owned and operated by Facebook, Inc. It was founded by Mark Zuckerberg while he was at Stanford University. I use Facebook to communicate with friends. -
Youtube Released
YouTube is a video-sharing website, created by three former PayPal employees, on which users can upload, view and share videos. It runs completely off of user-created content. I watch YouTube very often for entertainment and to learn new things. -
