Aug 15, 1867 Mary took religious vows to become a nun. Aug 22, 1867 Mary became the first sister and Mother Superior of the Order of the Sisters of StJoseph of the Sacred Heart Mar 22, 1869 Mary took final vows Oct 25, 1871 Mary returned to Adelaide and established more schools in country South Australia including Burra and Port Augusta May 14, 1873 Mary journeyed to Rome to get support for Father Woods and approval for her Order and its work. Aug 8, 1876 Mary journeyed to Queensland and clashed with Bishop James Quinn over the Governance of the Church and the role of nuns teaching in Church schools. Period: Nov 9, 1883 to Mar 13, 1886 Mary lived in New Zealand where she founded the Order of the Josephites. Nov 9, 1889 Mary worked in Victoria. May 16, 1896 Mary returned to South Australia and visited country schools throughout the state before journeying to New Zealand a second time.
