    Sam Clemens was born on November 30th, 1835.

    Sam Clemens moved to Hannibal when he was only four years old.
  • Leaving School

    After losing his father, Clemens was forced to leave school.
  • Ulitilizing this Office

    Sam's older brother, Orion, used the parlor as a printing plant and a newspaper office for the Hannibal Journal.
  • Left Hannibal

    Sam Clemens moved from the Boyhood Home when he was seventeen.
  • House Restored

    The house was completely restored. The Mark Twain Home Foundation continues to preserve the home and other buildings.
  • Death

    After writing and publishing many books, Clemens died in 1910.
  • Reopened Home

    The Boyhood home was reopened to the public. It became a tourist attraction ever since it was reopened.
